Similar to the Big Day Out event in 2016, the Katamatite Lions Club will this weekend run a ‘fun weekend’.
On Saturday and Sunday, October 14 and 15, the Katamatite Fun Weekend will feature an art show, photography exhibition, craft display and market stalls in the town hall on Saturday, along with working artist Pam Mansfield demonstrations at 11am and 1pm.
The Numurkah Town Band will perform from 10am to noon and Lyn Woodhead will be entertaining at 1.30pm with country and rock ’n’ roll songs.
Other Saturday highlights will be the latest special police cruiser unit display, the Katamatite senior cricket team’s first round match at the recreation reserve and the Kiwanis’ spinning wheel will be in action at 10am, noon and 2pm in the town hall with great prizes.
Saturday concludes with live music at the Boosey Creek Cafe and Tavern from 7.30pm.
On Sunday, highlights include a wildlife talk by Janice Mentiplay in the town hall at 10am; the Katamatite Garlic Farm open day with free permaculture and garlic growing talks at 11.30am and 1.30pm; and a barbecue by Eden Farm with its bio-dynamic sausages.
The Katamatite CFA open day will also be on Sunday, with the brigade’s firefighting display at the fire station and Police Paddock Park from 10am to 2pm.
